Protest the Parole of Linda's Murderer
Linda Strait was a beautiful, lively spirit that was taken from us far too soon. On the afternoon of September 26, 1982, Linda, 15 years old, walked (as she did many times) from her home to a nearby grocery store and never returned home. Her body was found the next morning by a fisherman in the Spokane River, she had been brutally raped and strangled. Thanks to a detective who chose Linda's cold case to investigate, he was able to match the killer's DNA to Linda's rape and murder- 22 years after the crime. The detective found Linda's murderer because he was in jail serving a sentence for the kidnapping of two eight year old girls in 1983. One of the girls was able to escape and the other was raped and left in a wooded area barely alive. The detective worked very hard to get Linda's case in front of a judge as he was just months from being released for this crime. He pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and received a sentence of 20 years for Linda's murder. Unfortunately, for reasons we are not sure, he was sentenced for second-degree murder, but not sexual assault, which would have extended his sentence.
Arbie Dean Williams is currently in the Clallam Bay Corrections Center and is scheduled to go before the parole board on April 10, 2019. Please take a stand for Justice for Linda and the protection of other innocent children and send letters to the parole board to protest his release. |
